Honors the town of Folly Beach, South Carolina with a 14’ high by 12’ wide sculpture made from the weathered timbers of the long-standing Folly Marina destroyed by Hurricane Hugo in 1989. Each star tells a story. Civil War bullets, a trumpet, shark teeth, flip flops, even the town’s brass water meter have their place in what makes the ‘Edge of America’ a unique community to live and visit.
'Spirit of Folly' is the first of the ‘Spirit of’ series which hopes to engage local communities in a collaborative effort to create uplifting Flag sculpture designed to instill and promote pride within their town.
