Folly Beach, South Carolina has earned its nickname of ‘Edge of America’. It’s an eclectic beach front town revered for its fierce independence nestled at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. I have known Folly for over 40 years and have seen the town withstand much growth yet somehow keep its core eclectic spirit.
It is this ‘Spirit of Folly’ I hope to instill in every flag I can make for any community which may need a helping hand or a rallying point. I feel we have grown apart as Americans focusing too much our differences. We have so much in common starting with our shared love for the American Flag. You may have your beliefs and I have mine, but we can both put our hand on the Flag and agree as Americans we have been equally blessed. It’s a start.
The flags are designed to last longer than I’ll be around to fix them. I use HEAVY material such as marine treated timber and piles, rail road ties, seasoned driftwood and outdoor metals like stainless steel, chrome and galvanized steel. I’m guessing 30 years or more lifespan. Other than the fasteners, I try to use all reclaimed material. If we had a slogan it would be ...
‘Used, abused & reused with love from Folly Beach South Carolina.’
